Overview

As part of staff’s monthly webinar series in 2026, we kick things off on Wednesday, January 7 with a virtual seminar on the basics of grant writing. Ilima Kane, Administrator of the Colorado Natural Disaster Mitigation Enterprise, will begin with a ten-minute presentation outlining what funders typically look for in grant applications and how to meet those expectations. There then will be a ten-minute activity to practice being the grant reviewer followed by discussion to learn from the group and dive deeper into challenges in writing grant applications.

Meeting Materials

After attending the seminar, you will:

  1. Be better able to respond to funders requests
  2. Understand funders needs and how they align with grant scoring criteria
