2026 Candidate Questionnaire: State-Local Government Partnerships

CCI partnered with the Colorado Association of Local Public Health Officials and the Special District Association of Colorado—other nonpartisan statewide organizations representing local government elected officials and staff—to stand ready to build collaborative relationships with Colorado’s governor-elect and attorney general-elect. It is our collective goal to address the financial, administrative, infrastructure, public health, social services, and other challenges facing our communities. In a local control state with many decentralized services, state-local partnerships are critical—and often legally mandated—for serving the people of Colorado in rural, frontier, resort, suburban, and urban areas.

We invited candidates for governor and attorney general to complete a questionnaire as an educational opportunity (not an endorsement process). These are the responses we received.
